Sean Henry has a new show that has just opened in Sweden at Galerie Andersson Sandström. Located in the north of the country, the gallery specialises in contemporary sculpture and Sean's exhibition there features a number of his figurative pieces.
Big news event of the week last week was Will Borrell's appearance in Heat Magazine; so it may not be Frieze or ArtForum or indeed OK, but the hours of studied carousing do seem to be bearing some results for him.
Instead of our usual Summer Open Studios we are ringing the changes this year. In its place we will be having an Open Evening to mark the re-launch of the Great Western Studios website on May 23rd and following this we will be having a series of one week exhibitions within the studio gallery spaces. More details of these will follow in the coming weeks.
While we are busy sorting out our own website, Laura Green has been busy getting her own one sorted, you can access it here. Laura has also managed to bag herself a finalist place on the Celeste Art Prize and Katherine Lubar finds herself on the shortlist for the prize as well. There is an on-line public vote for a secondary prize, so if you want to bolster the chances of either of these studio artists doing this then search for their names and vote here for Laura and here for Katherine.
The most recent Wootton Dawe exhibition at the Waterpoint in King's Cross was a big success. Simon and Danny sold all of the works that Sophie Baker was exhibiting with them and they are now planning a future show featuring Julie Goldsmith.
The annual exhibition for the Bloomberg Art Futures award has just taken place and featured Sarah Dwyer.
If you figure that your literary tastes are a little more highbrow you could do worse than pick up the newly Zakee Shariff illustrated release of SriHuvstdedt's What I Loved.
Darren Almond, has a show opening with Max Hetzler in Berlin later this month. The exhibition - entitled Night & Fog and referencing the 1955 documentary film of the same name - is on from April 27th until July 14th.
Natasha Laflin is presenting some of her work at the Subway Gallery near Edgware tube station; titled Small World Phenomenon, the work is on display through April, for details on how to get to the show and further images, see here.
And finally . . . Faye Haskins is presenting new work at an exhibition at the Adam Street members' club from April 23rd to May 6th in collaboration with the Untitled Gallery.
