Emily Young's show at the Fine Art Society which ran in December was also a great success with most of the new works selling within the first few days of the opening.
The London Art Fair opened on Tuesday and once again a large number of Great Western artists are featured. In alphabetical order: Douglas Abercrombie, Jan Coutts, Mary Grant, Sean Henry, Rachel Schwalm, Estelle Thompson, Felicity Warbrick. If anyone was more eagle-eyed than I have been, and spotted GWS artists that I have not listed, please let me know.
Following the London Art Fair on the cultural fair schedule is the Watercolours & Drawings Fair which is held at the Royal Academy of Arts from February 1st to the 4th. Nicholas Bowlby will be featuring works by Alex Uxbridge at this event.
Back in December Sean Alexander won the Cosh Iconic award with his wood lino-cut print of Tommy Cooper.

Continuing her series of cards, Lisa Jones, has just launched a req range of black and white products - all available from such cutting edge retailers as Tatty Devine and . . . The Roald Dahl Museum.
Jacques Nazaire has 2 projects on the go at the moment; one is that he is the artist in residence at the 2 Joseph Azagury stores in London and he also has an exhibition of his work running at the moment at Au Fils des Mots, in Bute Street, SW3.
Just prior to Christmas the Times Magazine ran a two page piece about Belinda Eade and her recent work at Cherkley Court, which opens later in 2007.

Meanwhile in the world of illustration . . . a new publication by Laurence King, put together by Pentagram Design and focussing on contemporary illustration features, not one, not two, but three GWS illustrators: Tommy Penton, Kate Gibb and Jo Ratcliffe - it can be purchased here. Sticking with illustration, both Jo Ratcliffe and Zakee Shariff were invited by über-hip Parisian department store Colette to contribute to their MY2007 project, where various international artists/illustrators were asked to submit a piece which expressed their view of the forthcoming year.
