I don't want anyone to be too alarmed but apparently Justin Hibbs is contaminated by architecture. Before you raise the alarm and don protective suits you may want to read the blurb attached to Justin's show at Lucy Mackintosh Gallery in Lausanne. The show, 'Altneuland', opens on March 15th and runs through to May 5th and features works on paper made in collaboration with David Ben White.
Blue Curry has a piece of work in a show currently on at the National Art Gallery of the Bahamas, entitled Bahamian Art: Pre Columbia to the Present.
The electric stallion [aka Gordon Langley] is having 5 of his music tracks featured in 3 short documentary films by Daniel Florêncio, watch this space to see them online because one of the films is Daniel’s documentary on Great Western Studios. Al Newman has recently joined Simon Dawe in studio 41 and has also just launched his web design service 76Creative. They have designed and put together the new Zakee Shariff website as well as the Shariff/Miller site, so if you are thinking of venturing into the world of having your own website you could do far worse than speak to Al about what you need and want.
Felicity Warbrick also has the hotly contested title of Printmaker of the month at Wrexham Arts Centre for the month of March. You have already missed the investiture of this title and the donning of the sash but the exhibition can still be seen.
Further afield you can still see work by Darren Almond in a show at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York titled Closed Circuit: Video and New Media at the Metropolitan.
The art fair cavalcade careers apace - recently setting down in Dubai, where Emily Young was a project artist and had work with the Fine Art Society, and in Maastricht where Emily had more work and Sean Henry also had work. Next stop . . . the Irish Art Fair, March 29th - April 1st, where Mary Grant is representing herself.
Illustrator, multi-media genius, graphic god and man of the people Sean Alexander has a trio of customised motorcycle helmets and other selected mixed media portraits on their way to an exhibition in Japan. It's all part of the launch of a micro Apart Gallery in BALS´ new Ginza store. The event will see 30 artists from around the globe pitching their wits against each other in a Tokyo-style helmet showdown. Sean's work can also been seen at the new Cosh Gallery, Berwick Street, Soho and will feature in the show to accompany the launch of the forthcoming book 'Two Faced'. The dates for this show are 15th to 22nd March 2007.
Jacques Nazaire seems to always have some news . . . this month he starts a year long residency at St Ouen in Paris.
Lucy Hull has put her mirrors in the passenger seat while she hurtles headlong into her new career as matchmaker supreme. The next singles event that she is hosting is at William IV in Kensal Green on March 29th. The last event she organised was packed to the brim by early evening so if your looking for love the early bird seems indeed to catch the worm.
